Our Goal...
TXS has been developed over the past couple years starting off as an idea of sorts, being tossed around and now coming to fruition. We've witnessed so many younger and younger musicians writing better and better music every year. With so much talent, those who make a name for themselves in texas, have truly earned it. TXS is purely a showcase of Texas talent for everones entertainment. We hope by making all this video avaible to the bands and the viewers free of charge to both sides, it will give the local artists and scenes altogether a network for promotion.
Where we are going...
The new site will include many features that you find on youtube with a couple of our own ideas included. The video will be categorized with band and song name, venue, date, and location so that you can easily watch all of a bands videos, search for one in particular, watch all the footage recorded at a certain venue, or watch an entire show from one specific date. We'll also have included an acct system divided by fan or band/venue. Fans well be able to make playlist, share, and have favorite videos. Bands/Venues will be able to post video/audio/pics, shows dates, contact, and other information they would like to post or just simply link to their myspace or other page. Along with a standard rating system we will have a seperate rating for TXS Featured video. The top featured videos will be displayed on the main page of Texasissouth.com. This is where the voting multipliers come in, the more content that you watch on a fan acct you will get higher voting multipliers (2x, 3x, 5x, .... i.e. 2x, your vote counts for 2 votes) and in turn will have alittle more influence on determining the featured videos. We're including multipliers as a reward for pledging certian amts on kickstarter towards our project. As far as the hardware goes we would like to invest in a couple new cameras so that we have more options on shot angles and placement, and be able to shot at multiple venues on one night if it arises. We are also looking at a few things for the audio side of our recording, althought our sound quality has improved, we still have a ways to go and are confident we are on the right path. We are just lacking some important items to wrap it all up.
We plan on adding many ways to help promote aside from just the features of our new site. One such thing would be our affliate program. It'll work by giving bands and artist the ability to advertise our site and video and in return receiving higher rankings on our featured video list depending on the amt of traffic we receive from them.

We are still in very early development and hope to see TXS grow with the veiwers input. We need many promoters for local and internet marketing as well as a graphic artists.
